On International Day of Peace, we are pleased to announce the award of an Impact grant to a project delivering in conflict-torn South Sudan
UK Aid Direct grant holders, Saferworld, will be using community security and peacebuilding approaches to improve the safety of communities in South Sudan. Their work supports communities, civil society and local authorities to jointly address peace and security concerns. It looks to encourage community participation (particularly women and youth) in the decision-making processes.
This project hopes to improve the safety of 24,500 direct beneficiaries and 161,595 indirect beneficiaries.
The grant was awarded in the second UK Aid Direct funding round and joins 34 projects that have already been announced.
