New UK Aid Direct funding rounds opening on 4 April
Following today’s announcement from the *Secretary of State for International Development, Penny Mordaunt, a new funding round for Community Partnership and Impact grants will open on Wednesday 4 April.
We are also pleased to confirm that Jo Cox Memorial Grants will be open to applicants on the same day. Strengthening grants of up to £100,000 and Network grants of up to £1,000,000 will be made across 2 thematic areas close to Jo’s heart:
Theme 1: Women’s social, economic and political empowerment through supporting women-led civil society organisations. This thematic area aims to encourage civil society to take an integrated approach to gender equality and empowerment – to tackle the combined and simultaneous disadvantages girls and women experience. This will include contexts where space for these civic actors is closing or at risk.
Theme 2: Strengthening civil society capacity for the early prediction of identity-based violence including mass atrocities; and amplifying and supporting responses to early warnings in order to prompt timely and effective interventions that prevent escalation and better protect populations from the threat of violence.
Full details on eligibility criteria, how to apply for the funds, and guidance materials are available on UKAidDirect.org. Applications can be submitted from Wednesday 4 April.
