The Small Charities Challenge Fund (SCCF)

The Secretary of State announced the launch of a new funding round on 20 March 2017.

  • this funding round offers funding for small UK registered organisations with an annual income of less than £250,000
  • grants are available for projects of up to 2 years and for a maximum value of £50,000
  • grants can be implemented in any country that appears in the lowest 50 countries in the Human Development Index or in certain countries that DFID considers to be high or moderate fragility
  • proposals are welcome from any sector and any not-for-profit organisation that can demonstrate they are aiming to reach the most vulnerable or marginalised and are contributing towards the Global Goals (opens in a new tab), DFID’s wider strategic objectives (click here to view DFID's Departmental plan) and the goals of the UK Aid Direct fund.

This funding round will stay open and all applications will be reviewed on a 6-monthly basis.

The closing date for the second review of proposals will be 30 March, 2018. 

Outcomes from the first review of proposals are expected to be announced in January 2018.
